Fredricksburg, TX is known for wine and German food. Not vegan food. As a smaller town focused on tourism, we were a bit concerned with our ability to eat. So we did our research and there are a few places with an easy vegan option and a couple with a vegan and gluten free option. Vaudeville is one of these places.

Vaudeville is the downstairs bistro of a very posh store. The top floor has a gallery worth seeing. The online menu showed one clearly vegan option and two others if augmented. Our waiter exclaimed that Vaudeville was the best vegan option in town.
Only open for lunch, I headed straight there when ready for lunch.

I ordered the vegan protein bowl and Hubby ordered the mushroom sandwich without cheese. We both enjoyed our meals.

We sat at the bar and the place filled quickly. It’s a fancy space.

Our waiter was friendly and kind. Even suggesting the vegan dessert to try. He said it might be the only fresh dessert we would encounter. Of course we tried it.

Coconut rice pudding with walnuts and dried fruit on top. Hubby liked it. The dessert had lots of cinnamon in and on it, so I only tried it. Not my favorite, but only because I know I’m supposed to skip cinnamon (I’m allergic).
Vaudeville gets three vegan cupcakes out of five. The food was fresh and delicious. Our waiter shared all the vegetables are locally sourced and it’s a “scratch kitchen,” so everything is prepared in-house. I’m glad we made it to Vaudeville while in Fredricksburg. I hope you make it there too.
