VEG’D in Los Angeles

Last month I got to go to a leadership conference in Los Angeles, California. Newport Beach to be exact. I didn’t have much time to do other things, but got away for dinner one night. Wanting something easy, I headed to VEG’D. It has good reviews online; always a good sign.

I wasn’t disappointed. Bowls, smoothies, sandwiches, everything looked enticing. I finally decided on a breakfast bowl and mint chocolate shake.

Since we are still in a pandemic, I ate outside and the weather was beautiful. Better yet, the food exactly what I wanted. Healthy, filling, simple, and tasty.

VEG’D is a local chain from what I can tell. The staff was kind and the food fresh. VEG’D gets three out of five vegan cupcakes. Definitely worth a stop when near one.

Being at a conference inside after so long in a pandemic was surreal. We all had to show proof of vaccination and test negative for COVID-19 upon arrival. We had a bubble and it was glorious. I got to meet people in-person that I had only met online over the last two years. And I didn’t get sick! I wore my K-N95 mask everywhere outside our bubble and kept distance as best I could from others. As before, the airports were the most dangerous part of the trip and my flight home was cancelled without help. My recommendation is to always avoid the really cheap airlines. They just don’t seem to care.
