Bouldin Creek Cafe in Austin, TX

In March of 2020 I was supposed to visit family and friends in Austin, Texas. Just like for thousands of other people, my trip was cancelled. I am now vaccinated against COVID-19, but am still thoughtful about where I go and how I behave in the world. I certainly wish this pandemic was over and am trying to be patient until that moment. However, I still really wanted to visit famy and friends. So I finally rescheduled and am so glad I did. Luckily, I also got to eat some delicious vegan food!

I have been to Bouldin Creek Cafe many times over the years and always enjoy the food. It’s not fully vegan, but items are clearly labeled. It was fun to visit once again and they had just reopened their outdoor dining.

Being in Austin, I had to order a taco! Breakfast tacos are common fare in Austin. I picked out the Neal Taco with tofu. Hubby picked The Benedict and Vegan Tex Mex Chips n Queso to share.

We both enjoyed everything. Their tofu scramble is interestingly dry, so we took advantage of the salsa. Hubby wasn’t full enough and ordered the Lavender Blueberry Pie with vegan ice cream for dessert. Also delicious.

Bouldin Creek Cafe gets three out of five vegan cupcakes. It’s always fun and quirky. The food is always good. The staff always kind.
