I recently made a short trip to Chicago and got to try Native Foods Cafe. For three days prior, I had been sequestered in a conference with little to eat and my stomach was ready for a good vegan gorging. It was not disappointed.
The day was so beautiful, and the restaurant packed, that my friend and I decided to get our lunch to go and eat on a nearby bench.
We started with Butternut Polenta Bites.
My brain thought they would be finger eating appropriate, but my fork was much appreciated. A delicious combination of flavors.
My friend ordered the Bangkok Curry Bowl and I got chef favorite Portobello and Sausage Burger. We could not stop eating either dish.
For desert, we devoured Carrot Cream Cheese Cupcakes.
Oh, so yummy! I had ordered one and accidentally got two, so my friend and I didn’t have to share. This was fortuitous because I don’t think I would have shared this cupcake well.
Every bite was flavorful and everything had a texture my mouth expected. A very easy vegan fast food choice and I will eat here again when presented the opportunity. Native Foods Cafe gets five out of five vegan cupcakes.
