Soy Cafe is one of my absolute favorite places to eat in Philly. The owner seeks to provide healthy and vibrant vegan food. My favorite dishes are the Pho, Sesame Tofu salad, and the Tomato and Avocado sandwich. But there are lots of great options.
In addition to a delicious daily menu, there are special meals during various occasions like Valentine’s Day or during Philly Vegan Restaurant Week. Right now there are special meals on Saturday nights. Last Saturday I enjoyed a Harvest Moon Dinner of squash soup, salad, pesto pasta, and carrot cupcake with soft serve ice cream.
Dinner was in the beautiful back garden with heat lamps.
All meals are eaten outdoors right now due to COVID-19 and sidewalk tables also invite folks to sit and relax while enjoying delicious food.
The name of the cafe is inspired by the owner’s mother who would make tofu from scratch. But there are lots of soy-free options, as well as gluten free, nut free, and other allergies are accommodated.
Soy Cafe gets five vegan cupcakes for always having friendly staff, clean space, and delicious food. When in Philly, this is a must stop. Try the award winning mac-n-cheese!
