KALE + COCO in Dublin, Ireland, started as a pop-up restaurant that was so beloved that they now have a permanent spot on the first floor of a college housing building. I was very excited to have some healthy food. They follow a whole foods plant based approach for their menu.
After carefully picking our dishes from the board, we made our way to the counter to order. They needed a minute to catch up, but we didn’t wait long. We ordered our selections and picked out a couple of desserts to try.
I ordered the You Guac My World and a Berry Good Smoothie. Hubby picked out the #Gainz. I quickly also picked out a PB Square and a cookie to try.
Both treats were quickly plated and handed with a pineapple shaped number. These I took to a table to wait for the bowls.

The smoothie arrived first and then our bowls. We dug in with excitement.

I really enjoyed You Guac My World. The right balance of flavors and amount of food. Hubby was less impressed with the #Gainz. He felt it was dry and needed more dressing. I even gave him the remainder of my dressing. It wasn’t enough. The smoothy was more like fruity ice, unfortunately. I was hopeful for the desserts.

The PB Square was okay, but the cookie was terrible. Very dry with an aromatic lingering flavor that neither of us liked. We each had a little bit and left most of the cookie.
The space is cute, but the food is not great. KALE + COCO gets two of five vegan cupcakes. I wouldn’t return.
