Breakfast, Brunch, & Lunch in Edinburgh

There are certain foods unique to every place in the world. Edinburgh is no different. Dishes like haggis and black pudding are common in this part of the world and have been veganized. A “traditional Scottish breakfast” includes these with a potato scone that looks like a pancake, baked beans, roasted tomatoes, and cooked mushrooms. I wanted to share in the experience of this “tradition” and found a highly rated place with vegan versions of everything. Not gluten-free, but I could have the beans and veggies. Hubby could try it all!

This restaurant is more of a deli and to-go kind of place. But there are a few tables outside and a couple of places to sit inside.

Hubby picked out the Ultimate Vegan Breakfast that includes sausages, toast, and bacon with the haggis and black pudding. I asked if I could order just the gluten-free pieces of the meal and was told rudely that there was nothing I could eat in the entire place. They were completely unwilling to help me eat, despite having a mushroom soup available. I ordered a cup of tea and ate off Hubby’s plate.

The things I could eat were just like the English breakfasts I have enjoyed. Hubby said all the faux-meats were delicious.

Hubby gives Breakfast, Brunch, & Lunch three cupcakes out of five. I give them two for being so rude. If not worried about gluten, this is the place to go for the veganized dishes.
